Meadham Kirchhoff, SS13 Show Invite

"The fluidity and possibility of the teenage years seems to unite fashion's obsession with the boy: sparked, perhaps by a strange belief in the precious genius of youth -- of a time of perceived infinite opportunity, spontaneity and creative freedom." Lou Stoppard

Mad About The Boy is a new exhibition coming to the London College of Fashion's - Fashion Space Gallery - curated by SHOWstudio’s Lou Stoppard, the show explores fashion’s portrayal of the teenage boy and how it visually constructs ideals of the young male through collections and imagery - from the outsider to the sexual fantasy to ravers and revellers.
The exhibition ultimately seeks to provoke a discussion on how youth is portrayed and obsessed over in fashion's imagination, constantly re-shaping and reinventing the dream male.

Featuring examples of work from the 1980s and 1990s through to the current day, designers and contributors include Kim Jones, Meadham Kirchhoff, Larry Clark, Nick Knight, Nasir Mazhar, Tyrone Lebon, Christopher Shannon, Martine Rose, JW Anderson and youth obsessives Hedi Slimane, Raf Simons and Gosha Rubchinskiy.

Mad About The Boy will run January 8 to April 2, 2016 at Fashion Space Gallery, London College of Fashion, 20 John Prince’s Street, London, W1G 0BJ
