The photographer - who chose to avoid documenting the 90s trend for heroin chic, opting instead for hi-gloss and hi-glam - has a unique vision which transcends fashion, creating his own visual interpretation from behind a lens and translating a new language of fashion which influences the cultural and commercial zeitgeist.
Showing for the first time in Europe, the exhibition entitled 'Extremes' follows the interplay of mass media and his iconic relationship with celebrity culture, in particular his close-knit bond with music tastemakers, Hollywood royalty and of course, his many fashion shoots as the Godfather of hedonism.
The exhibition also features 'Alta Moda' (high fashion) - an ethnographic photography series of portraits which captures Peruvians in their traditional attire shot in the mountainous region of Cusco.
'Extremes' opened last Friday and runs at Yvon Lambert Gallery until July 24, 2014.
