Ok so you'll probably know by now that I love US rock band Dum Dum Girls and I also love author Bret Easton Ellis, so imagine my face when the two collaborated on the band's video / short film for their latest track "Are You Okay?" taken from their acclaimed new album, "Too True."
No stranger to psychological thriller territory, the film was written and directed by the American Psycho/Less Than Zero author and stars Dee Dee Penny, Shiloh Fernandez and Sophia Marzocchi in a dark and atmospheric tale produced by Braxton Pope, with an additional musical score composed by Tamaryn and Drew McDowall.
Shot in LA's MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) and the place I basically want to live - that desolate paradise known as Joshua Tree - the short also fuses music and art with the appearance of the piece 'Two Boys' (2010) by artist Charles Ray - it's a stark all-white work which through the simplicity of form and content, allows viewers a glimpse into the human psyche.
Obviously I love this. Watch below.
