LOVE! this quirky little video from In The Valley Below, aka Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacob, who hail from LA's Echo Park. The accompanying visual story to their latest release "Peaches" was shot in the iconic Madonna Inn in the US - which if you've never been before, is like an awkward hot mess of pink, (imagine the kind of place Barbie might live with quite a few Ken's) and the best/worst hotel EVER, all rolled into one.
Despite the fact you might need at least 110 Martinis to deal with the 110 kitsch themed rooms which range from ridiculously decadent to 'OMG what were they thinking' - the Madonna Inn has nothing to do with the singer, and was actually the brainchild of Alex and Phyllis Madonna who wanted to provide tourists (and anyone who hates minimalism), with a unique experience they'll never forget - put it this way, you'll be repeating 'MY EYES' for the entire time you're there.
The haunt of many a celebrity, even photographer Ellen von Unwerth shot the imagery for her “Do Not Disturb!” exhibition at the Inn - watch the brilliant film she made for it HERE.
But back to In The Valley Below, who recently signed to Capitol in the US and Ignition in the UK, and this track is an upbeat electro-pop-meets-alt-rock offering, taken from their 11-track debut album ‘The Belt’ which is released along with ‘Peaches’ on 7th April.
