Collaborating with the National Centre for Transgender Equality and the LGBT Community Centre in the US, luxe retailer Barneys New York has unveiled its Spring 2014 Campaign entitled "Brothers, Sisters, Sons & Daughters," starring and exploring the personal stories of 17 transgender individuals.
Showcasing designs by Alaia, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Lanvin and Givenchy - who also notably used transgender model Lea T in their 2010 advertising campaign - the images were shot by legendary photographer Bruce Weber, who also directed a series of short films to accompany the campaign which seeks to highlight "both the struggles and triumphs a trans-person may face in relation to their gender identity."
Vanity Fair's contributing editor and author, Patricia Bosworth, interviewed the 17 models who include - Arin Andrews, Edie Charles, Valentijn de Hingh, Ashley de la Cruz, Sawyer Devuyst, Peche Di, Dezjorn Gauthier, Trevon Haynes, Katie Hill, Eve Lindley, Niki M’nray, Ryley Pogensky, Ines Rau, May Simon, Ahya Taylor, Maxie Neu, and Gisele Xtravaganza - all remarkably unique in their own way.
