Filles à Papa AW13

So it's time to check out that other little Belgian treat (besides chocolate) - fashion label Filles à Papa (Daddy’s little Girl), and their latest offering for AW13.

Founded in 2009 by sisters Sarah and Carol Piron, the label is a spontaneous fusion of formal and casual wear juxtaposing masculine and feminine elements - the rough with the refined.
From utility shapes and oversize styles to slim line silhouettes, each garment is a modern take on urban cool for girls, referencing rock 'n' roll subcultures as its core aesthetic, clashing contrasts and influences with an energetic and uninhibited vibe - blurring day through to night. Retro Americana also features heavily in the label's style narrative, which draws inspiration from muses including punk icon Debbie Harry and Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon.

The ready-to-wear line balances a mix of the playful and the liberated, which is probably why their 'Tomboy' and 'Welcome To Paradise' motif jersey tees and bikinis were the must-have items for SS13, seen on celebrities including Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora.

AW13 keeps us wanting more with a sporty yet glam mix of patched and sequinned denim, paint smeared tees, sequinned and logo sweaters, figure hugging pencil skirts, quilted track pants and shorts, oversize cardigans and loose fitting shirt and trouser combos, some with graphic prints.
Paired with Military style boots and baseball caps, this a collection that should be worn with the spirit of rebellion and freedom. Check out some of my favourite looks below.
