Nicholas Kirkwood x London Fashion Week SS14

Every season at London Fashion Week the courtyard at Somerset House becomes a hub of peacocking fashionistas and inquisitive shoppers and tourists who wander in off the street to have a nose around, all trying to instagram themselves posing in front of the iconic LFW BFC show space. Why?
Well every season the BFC collaborate with a designer on a bespoke artwork for the central courtyard, which runs throughout all of the LFW branding to create a strong visual identity for that season - Manolo Blahnik CBE applied his creative touch for AW13, and now it's the turn of Nicholas Kirkwood for SS14.

Fusing Kirkwood's geometric and architectural style, the design features his signature chevron pattern, and for the first time in the three seasons the BFC has partnered with a designer on a statement visual - Kirkwood's artwork will also feature an interactive and reflective element, where the context and location form part of the experience within the space.

The shoemaster of invention said, 'It’s a great privilege to be able to team up with the BFC on this exciting project and apply my interpretation to the London Fashion Week campaign. I’ve taken elements of my work and designed a pattern that I feel reflects the bold nature and energy of London Fashion Week.'

London Fashion Week SS14 runs from 14 - 17 September.
