Boris Bidjan Saberi - Sailorism

Boris Bidjan Saberi continues to hold my attention with his mix of edgy but functional urban menswear, which fuses an eclectic deconstruction of classic shapes, fabric layering and unique cuts - all across a predominantly monochromatic colour palette.

Launched in 2007, his label now extends to his Barcelona-based atelier, where his signature of contemporary handcrafted ready-to-wear pieces are sewn into the roots of street and skate culture, combining meticulous attention to detail with an experimental mix of functional dimensions and pioneering tailoring.

For SS14, the half-German, half-Iranian designer has built nautical inspirations into his "Sailorism" collection, which takes his personal vision of maritime workers and the technical detailing of sailing, merging them with a new urban masculine silhouette.

Watch a short promotional film for the collection below, and for more info on the designer, head HERE.
