A Dog In A Handbag Is For Life, Not Just For Christmas! - @HarveyNichols 'New Breed'


Always ahead of the (fash) pack with their tongue-in-cheek campaigns, Harvey Nichols is back yet again with a selection of print, online and outdoor ad images which will make us stop, stare, and laugh out loud.

From walks of shame to models peeing themselves with excitement, the British retailer has been at the forefront of funny, irreverent and sometimes controversial imagery, but this time round, they're just poking harmless fun at pooches as fashion accessories.

With oversized being a key silhouette for SS13, the latest campaign features the stores' own take on the dog-in-handbag trend, but instead of teeny tiny chihuahua's in tiaras, this time the dogs come supersized - hefty woofs with big gnashers are now de rigueur.

'The New Breed' campaign, shot by fashion photographer Miles Aldridge and styled by Harry Lambert, showcases the latest fashion and accessories on the Third and Fourth Floors at the Knightsbridge flagship store - designers / brands featured include Kenzo Paris, Philip Lim, Theyskens’ Theory, Sandro, Equipment, alice + Olivia, J Brand, Michael Kors and Sophie Hulme.

Fashion aside, the real stars of the campaign are of course the dogs themselves, known as ‘Spud’ the British Bulldog, ‘Dozer’, an English Bull Terrier and 'Pepper', a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. One thing's for sure, if you're actually physically able to lift the weight of one of those bruisers on your arm, then you're very unlikely to get your new handbag stolen.
