Teenage Dreams: Raf Simons SS13 Campaign

Raf Simons SS13 advertising campaign and accompanying film is a fusion of dark vs light, a showcase of the designer's latest collection which also explores the themes of teenage adolescence; the interplay between femininity and masculinity; an L.A. feeling, and the art of one of the city's most renowned residents, Brian Calvin, whose signature portraits reflect the hipster / grunge-like West Coast way of life - a rough but vibrant aesthetic.

We wanted to talk about a teenager, a fan of music with a dialogue between grunge and nature”, said Director and photographer Pierre Debusschere, speaking to Dazed & Confused. “From here the mainframe was decided; two boys sitting in a bedroom listening to an interview of someone they're a fan of. We couldn't speak about teenagers without talking about an object of desire either, that's when we decided to include Anne-Catherine Lacroix as the incarnation of a pure teenage dream girl.”
