Explore "Epizelos" x Moley Talhaoui

You may recall I wrote a piece for The HuffPost UK earlier this year about Swedish label Dagmar collaborating with artist Moley Talhaoui on a T-shirt design for their AW12 collection (read it HERE).

Well now the very talented Talhaoui has brought his collection of dark and magnetising paintings to London in a new exhibition entitled "Epizelos" - an exploration of anxiety, disorder and joy, a fusion of experiences which can sometimes bring a traumatic outcome.
In his signature style, the paintings juxtapose shape and beauty - a fusion of visual poetry, abstraction and figuration, all taken from his subconcious, expressed in an early modernist style but with a contemporary critique. His work also reminds me of the late, great iconic artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, in that on first viewing it's difficult to explain the meaning behind the visual as there are so many references which go deeper than a superficial analysis.

"Epizelos" is on now at the WESC store at 43 Carnaby Street, London, and runs until 21st Dec. Go see! You can also view more of Moley's work on his official website HERE and check out his Tumblr too!
