Tim Walker - 'Story Teller' Exhibition

"Sometimes when you're taking a picture an extraordinary sense of luck and chance takes over and propels you to make pictures that you couldn't in your wildest dreams have imagined. This is the magic of photography." - Tim Walker

So last night in London town, Mulberry hosted a party to launch photographer Tim Walker's new 'Story Teller' exhibition at Somerset House (Mulberry are also sponsoring the exhibition). If you weren't invited to the A-list event, then you missed out on marmalade mule cocktails and a DJ set from Friendly Fires.
But back to the exhibition, which features a selection of Walker's most iconic shots, including portraits of the late Alexander McQueen, Tilda Swinton and Vivienne Westwood - not to mention an eye-catching display of installations and props/models previously used in shoots - such as a giant doll which chased model Lindsey Wixson through the woods in a Vogue Italia editorial (imagine your worst childhood nightmares about gigantic toys coming to life!); a supersize bumblebee playing a cello, and a life-size replica of a spitfire from a 2009 Vogue shoot, crash landed....into a fireplace.
If you're wondering why the Mulberry collaboration - Walker has lensed the British luxury brand's advertising campaigns for the past four seasons, working alongside Creative Director Emma Hill.

To coincide with the exhibition, a book has also been released, 'TIM WALKER : STORY TELLER' is designed by Ruth Ansel and features over 175 images, collages and snapshots from his personal archives, many of which you can see in the exhibition.

'TIM WALKER : STORY TELLER' runs from today until 27th January 2013 at Somerset House - go and see it, it's a fusion of photography, fashion and fantasy all rolled into one!
