Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures by Peter Saville

Visualized have released a video featuring former Factory Records graphic designer Peter Saville, discussing the concept behind the cover art for Joy Division’s 1979 album, Unknown Pleasures - which he created, along with many others for the band.

Cambridge Encyclopedia of Astronomy, 1977

Saville explains how Joy Division had spotted a symbolic image in the Cambridge Encyclopaedia of Astronomy (above), which inspired the iconic artwork that later became a cultural phenomenon. Watch the video below:
