'Love Looks Not With The Eyes' - Anne Deniau x McQueen

Paris-based Anne Deniau was the only photographer granted exclusive access to late designer Alexander McQueen's shows, capturing the organised chaos backstage.
Now the visual pioneer immortalises the provocative and extraordinary aesthetics of the late designer's pre-show process, in a new book entitled 'Love Looks Not With The Eyes'.

Deniau lensed McQueen and his production collaborators (including now Creative Director, Sarah Burton), along with close model pals such as Kate Moss and Shalom Harlow, over a 13-year period, as the London-born designer set about creating fashion spectacle after fashion spectacle.
Beginning her work for McQueen in 1997 during his stint at Givenchy and ending in 2010 after he took his own life - the book, which features previously unseen images, is both a visual homage to the haunting, fragile and dark romanticism which unfolded behind-the-scenes at McQueen and also to the art of photography.

'Love Looks Not With The Eyes' - which refers to a line in A Midsummer Night's Dream which was tattooed on McQueen's right arm - is released on October 1st (Abrams, £45).
