Glow-In-The-Dark: Alexander Wang SS13 #NYFW

It was a rave revival at Alexander Wang's SS13 show in New York, reworking a club culture trend and adding more edge to his signature edgy urban aesthetic. Leather, skins, laser cut-out fabrics, and barely-there mesh (referred to as "Tron-like") held together dresses, most of which conformed to his usual boxy silhouette over a mainly black, white and glow-in-the-dark colour palette.
Wang's shows are always a talking point, as Anna Dello Russo overheated with excitement proclaiming him “the new Helmut Lang" - someone tell her to take a cold fashion shower!!

The Wang vs Lang comparisons have been going for some time, and yet again with this latest collection his designs transport us back to the minimalist 1990s Lang archive - this time referencing his glow-in-the-dark, reflective dresses and trousers. The sort of pieces which will get you noticed when the lights go down.

Watch the NYFW show below, which comes complete with an eclectic soundtrack that culminates in the sort of tune you would expect to be throwing shapes outdoors in a field to - whistles at the ready!
