Sarah Burton, Tilda Swinton (and Pippa Middleton?!) Named in Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People

Alexander McQueen AW12

Karl Lagerfeld described Sarah Burton as "a genius" for keeping the Alexander McQueen aesthetic alive after his suicide in 2010; and Vogue Ed-In-Chief Anna Wintour thinks she did an "amazing job" of designing *THAT* wedding dress for a certain someone we now know as the Duchess of Cambridge,
So it's no surprise that the designer and Creative Director of McQueen has been named in Time magazine's annual 100 Most Influential People list.

Sarah Jessica parker, a long-time fan of McQueen and his work, has written a personal homage to Burton as part of her inclusion on the list which you can read in full HERE.

The list also includes actress and style icon Tilda Swinton, which I assume is due to the fact she knows how to 'werk' Haider Ackermann's avant-garde creations - and not because she wasn't influential enough to receive an Oscar nom for that film last year about the creepy child called Kevin....the one we won't talk about.

The Times magazine hot 100 list also includes Barack Obama, Adele and Rihanna - but by far the strangest and most questionable additions this year are Kate and Pippa Middleton.

Kate may have single-handedly boosted sales (and PR) for the high-street store Reiss, but I don't see how that, or marrying a Prince instantly makes you "influential"?
And as for her sister Pippa... shouldn't that be her bum on the list instead....
