#OneToWatch @karimaFrancis

I know exactly what you'll be thinking the minute you press play on the track link below and hear the folky-infused x passionate rock vocals of Karima Francis, "Oh. That's very Tracy Chapman".
And yes you would be right, as the Blackpool-born singer-songwriter's autobiographical lyrics do channel a bit of old-skool Chapman fused with Joan Armatrading and even Alanis Morissette (s'that twangy girlie guitar thing).

But enough of the female rocker comparisons (she also has Jimmy Hendrix-esque BIG hair, so that's one male rocker similarity right there), because Karima is forging ahead in her own lane with soul baring, emotionally charged tracks which make you sit up and listen.

Her forthcoming album ‘The Remedy’ (the follow-up to 2009’s critically acclaimed debut ‘The Author’) is a collaboration with producer Mark Ellis (aka 'Flood'), whose credits include engineering on New Order's 'Movement' and albums for Depeche Mode, Nick Cave, U2, Nine Inch Nails and PJ Harvey. Released here later this Summer, 'The Remedy' is a beautiful collection of songs to pull at the heart strings, mixed by Tom Elmhirst whose credits include Adele, Amy Winehouse and Rufus Wainwright - need I say more... *breaky-uppy / deep lovey-dovey songs*.

The first single from the LP, ‘Wherever I Go’ is released on May 13th and oozes everything that makes me Krazy about Karima. So yes, you can totally blame me if she becomes your new addiction. Listen below:
