KZENIYA: Avant-garde Accessorising for AW12 @TaskPRUK

So I've been doing the Press Day rounds and one of the designers that stood out (at Task PR's PD), was Kzeniya Oudenot, a graduate of St Martin's College of Art and Design.
Experimenting with print techniques on Italian leather across clutches, shoulder bags, wallets and iPad/Laptop cases, Kzeniya’s Autumn / Winter 2012 range is more of a collection of beautifully sculpted objects than every day accessories.
Fabrics such as suede, calfskin and metallic nappa across a colour palette of black, brown, silver, gold, blue and red, are fused with experimental avant-garde detailing like studding, chains and steel/brass metal parts to create distinctive and almost futuristic statement pieces.

Having previously worked for Alexander McQueen, the Royal Opera House and the Scottish Ballet, designing edgy and unique costumes, Kzeniya launched her accessory range in 2010 which has quickly become a red-carpet favourite among celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Jessie J, Kristen Stewart and Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) - all of whom regularly pair her creations with their designer garb.
Made here in the UK, Kzeniya's designs have previously been inspired by the works of Anish Kapoor and architectural forms by Zaha Hadid, and it's clear to see from her latest collection that her fascination with mysticism, metals and structure are still strong themes in her work, along with calligraphy, philosophy and Peter Greenaway's 1996 film 'The Pillow Book'.
