REWIND: Ice Cube Celebrates The Eames

Turns out that Ice Cube could've got Straight Outta Compton and designed his own hood, as the rapper/actor once studied Architectural Drafting before he started drafting lyrics like "F*ck Tha Police".
Inspired by husband and wife design team Charles and Ray Eames, who designed some of the most important examples of 20th century furniture, and iconic mid-20th century Los Angeles buildings such as Eames House and Entenza House in Pacific Palisades - Ice
pays tribute to the style and simplicity of their work, by offering his insights on Eames House as part of a short film entitled 'PacificStandardTime: Art In L.A. 1945-1980'.

In the short he's also got a lorra' love for the City of Angels, taking you on a mini tour of the place where dreams are made (not that mine came true when I went last year, refund please). He also offers up design-type truisms such as "one man's eyesore is another man's paradise". Basically that's creative waffle for what one person may like, another person may think what the hell? I have that reaction every time I step inside a bus and then remember why I don't take public transport.

Anyway, watch Ice's take on the home of mini malls, palm trees and billboards below. It's actually Aiiiight! which is rapper speak for quite good.
