Grimes x Dazed & Confused April

Canadian DIY musician Grimes - aka Clare Boucher - covers the April issue of Dazed & Confused, styled by Robbie Spencer, shot by YSL's new dude Hedi Slimane, (thank goodness the Twitter #Hedislimania is over, eeesh that went on and ooooooooon).

Anyhoo, Grimes is like so-hot-right-now because she's what they call an "experimental" artist, meaning she likes to fuse lots of genres with her synth-pop vocals and she's already been hailed as "One to watch" by Vogue because of her eclectic personal style - she likes coloured hair extensions and pairing old prom gowns with fingerless gloves. She also shares the same costume designer as the band Arcade Fire - Renata Morales - who created her outfits for the video "Crystal Ball".
In her "21st Century Girl" shoot for Dazed, she wears a nose ring designed by Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci and some full-on ear bling that wouldn't look out of place on Daphne Guinness.

Dazed are also streaming her forthcoming album (her third), on their site HERE.
Check out the track "Oblivion" below, which when I first heard it made me go "Noooo, stop the tinkly squeaky vocals thing". But then of course I couldn't stop humming it, and later I heard the beautiful and haunting "Crystal Ball".
Now I'm just addicted to her electro-meets-psychedelic-meets-melancholic mix.
