Saint Etienne x Tonight

Remember Saint Etienne, the indie-dance-pop pioneers in the 90s who gave us tunes like "You're In A Bad Way", "Join Our Club", and my personal fav, "Hug My Soul"?
Well after a 7 year absence, the band - Sarah, Bob’n’Pete - are back as the self-proclaimed antidote to “landfill pop”, with a new single released on March 5 entitled "Tonight".
Taken from their forthcoming album - their first release since 2005's "Tales From Turnpike House" - production on "Tonight" is by Xenomania lynchpin Tim Powell (Kylie Minogue, Sugababes, Pet Shop Boys), with Richard X on mixing duties (M.I.A., Kelis, Annie)
In Bob Stanley's own words, Tonight is "about the anticipation of going to see your favourite artist. For some reason, I imagine this show is at the Forum in Kentish Town. The whole album is about the power of pop, how it affects and shapes your life. People talk about the problem of landfill indie, but there's so much landfill pop around at the moment - we're trying to do something about it."

Check out the track below. It's an ebullient little number with a big 'you will be humming it all day' factor!
