On The Weston Front: Harvey Nichols x Prof Richard Weston

If you watched the TV series The Next Big Thing, which featured fashion and design creatives competing to be snapped up and displayed in iconic London store Liberty's, then you will have heard of Professor Richard Weston. A rising star on the fashion scene, he creates luxurious silk scarves inspired by the forms, patterns and colours of nature, digitally printed with mineral, stone and fossil designs. His online collection for Liberty's also includes iPhone and Blackberry cases designed exclusively for the store.

Now the designer is launching a range of printed silk tanks which will be stocked exclusively in London fashion emporium, Harvey Nichols, bringing a fresh and unique take on the current trend for digital print and stand-out brights. The collection will be available in store and online from March, priced at £110 each.

Weston, who is also an architect and landscape designer, is widely known in literary circles for penning "Alvar Aalto" - a book dedicated to the Finnish architect and designer, which scooped 1995's Sir Banister Fletcher Prize as the architecture book of the year.
Talking about his journey into fashion, he says, "I have no delusions about becoming a new Karl Lagerfeld! I'm looking to work with designers who share my passion for the prints."
