There was magic in the air across London again tonight, as the late Alexander McQueen's diffusion line, McQ, showed the new AW12 collection during London Fashion Week for the first time. With Salma Hayek and Anna Wintour watching on the frow, full lace brocade puffball skirts (a classic McQ silhouette), military inspired coats, plush velvet dresses, long leather gloves and over-the-knee lace-up boots were unveiled on a catwalk covered in autumnal leaves and tree bark, across a colour palette of winter tones such as khaki's, navy, burgundy and black.

Kristen McMenamy closed the show in a breathtaking full gown with a cinched-in waist that was all kinds of little red white riding hood, as she disappeared off into the woods, only to re-appear later in a wooden hut-come-grotto called the Core Club, serving drinks to guests, still in that hair doughnut! McMenamy also appears in the brand's SS12 short fashion film entitled 'She Builds Domes in Air' - watch it HERE.

To see the full AW12 show, head to the official Facebook page where the video will no doubt pop up soon, and thanks to fashion guru Gianluca Longo, here are some stunning shots which really tell the story from tonight's show.
