Lana Del Rey's Mulberry Baseball Jacket x The Mulberry Del Rey

As you already know, controversial indie music darling (or daaaaaaahling as it's fashion week), Lana Del Rey, is the inspiration behind Mulberry's latest must-have piece of handbag arm candy - the 'Del Rey'.

An homage to the singer's retro aesthetic, the sleek yet classic design in white ostrich skin with gold fastenings, was the result of a meeting between the brand's Creative Director Emma Hill and Del Rey last year. ‘
I love Lana’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined and elegant, yet with a beautiful practicality that would suit any woman.' Hill revealed.

The bag made its debut with its namesake at the AW12 show in London yesterday, with Del Rey telling press, ‘I love the design, a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style. It’s an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me.'

The bag hits stores in May, and please, if you're going to gush about it on Twitter, check the spelling of her name first! I saw far too many uses of Del RAY yesterday. Seriously, she's the hottest thing since punk'ish pink or lilac hair highlights and tips (everywhere at #LFW right now btw), so let's try and get it right people. Yes I'm talking to you Sali Hughes and Hilary Alexander, tut tut!

Oh, and that grey/white leather baseball jacket she wore at yesterday's AW12 show is also by Burberry and is my WANT OF THE WEEK!
