Juergen Teller: Life Behind A Lens

"Before, I thought if you had to explain a photograph I thought it wasn’t worth the photograph, but now I realise that some of my thought processes are quite complex and the words and back stories help people get into them." (Juergen Teller, 2012)

Fashion's most provocative photographer appears in a new short film, shot by close friend TJ Wilcox, in which he discusses life behind a lens and his archive of work which includes working alongside the master of minimalism Helmut Lang until 1993; collaborating with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons; capturing Vivienne Westwood and Pamela Anderson frolicking in a laundrette for the designer's SS09 campaign; persuading Charlotte Rampling to cuddle up naked for a shoot at Paris's Hôtel de Crillon in 2004 and asking Victoria Beckham to climb into a Marc Jacobs carrier bag in 2008.
The film, made before his 'Texte und Bilder' exhibition at London's German Embassy, also sees Teller discussing how he manages to live a free life, despite being one of the world's most influential visionaries.
