Chanel: The Little Black Jacket

First the 'Karl' collection for Net-A-Porter, then his guest editorship for Metro International - and now the Lagerfeld wagon just keeps on rolling with a new photo book entitled "The Little Black Jacket".
In the book, he and BFF Carine Roitfeld pay homage to the classic Chanel tweed cardigan-like-jacket by enlisting the help of celebs and models, including SJP, Vanessa Paradis and Alice Dellal, to fashion the garment in their own unique way.

The iconic Chanel jacket was born in the 50s, and has been revisited and reinterpreted by Lagerfeld in his collections since 1983.
The book, published by Steidl, is being unveiled as part of a series of three events Chanel is staging in Tokyo next month.

On March 21st, an exhibition featuring 100 images from the photo tome will mark its worldwide launch. Then on March 22nd, Chanel will replicate their Spring-Summer 2012 Haute Couture show, with a live catwalk event right in the heart of Tokyo. Events will then conclude on the 23rd with the opening of a pop up store, selling the RTW line and accessories.

Chanel is focusing its creative efforts on Tokyo in a bid to raise its Japanese profile, while supporting the Far Eastern nation following the Tsunami which happened a year earlier in March 2011.
