The Kills: Last Goodbye

When I first met him I thought he was the coolest guy in the world; I was completely fascinated by him. " (Alison  Mosshart)

"The first time I saw her perform was like watching Patti Smith for the first time.” (Jamie Hince)

The Kills have released a video for their latest single ‘Last Goodbye’, accompanied by Mosshart and Hince (in a cool photobooth moment) recollecting their time together over the past decade. Shot in black and white 35mm film, the chatty bit is directed by Brit actress Samantha Morton (Minority Report), who also made her directorial debut with The Unloved in 2009.
'Last Goodbye' is a move away from the band's usual garage-rock vibe and drum-machine inspired dancey tracks like 'Cheep and Cheerful'. Taken from last years’ Blood Pressures LP, the song is a haunting ballad steeped in nostalgia and heartache (perfect for that Valentine's break-up mixtape), with Mosshart explaining the meaning of the song to NOWNESS:

Life goes on. It starts off being the end of the world but then ends up alright.”
