Francesco Vezzoli x Prada 24 Hour Pop-Up Museum

If there's one person who can persuade A-listers (particularly cinematic talent), to work for nothing - it's Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli.
His previous projects include a trailer for a fictional remake of Gore Vidal’s “Caligula,” starring Helen Mirren and Courtney Love; campy needlework portraits of Maria Callas; an ad directed by Roman Polanski for non-existant fragrance Greed (starring Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams wrestling) and rap-artist Nicki Minaj transformed into a powdered 18th-century courtesan for the cover of W's November 2011 issue.

Now the Prada-obsessed artist is teaming up with none other than Miuccia Prada herself, along with the Prada Foundation, to create a pop-up museum which will be open for 24 hours only in Paris’ historic Palais d’Iéna - the same venue Prada's sister label Miu Miu used for its AW11 show.

Launching on Tuesday January 24 at 9pm with a private VIP dinner, the pop-museum will transform into a "club" at 11pm, with live streaming via
It will then morph back into a museum on Wednesday 25th and be open to the general public for a day-long exhibition of the artist’s work - including five-metre high, neoclassical figures with the heads of celebrities Vezzoli has previously collaborated with, such as Courtney Love and actress Cate Blanchett. According to The Guardian, "The statues will light up in the course of the evening and look like something you might find on the way to a brothel in Las Vegas. Ostentatious, ephemeral and kitsch, it promises to be a provocative spectacle.”

The museum will also include a Twitter chat between Vezzoli and a celebrity "even bigger" than Lady Gaga apparently. Before you think Madge, non, tis not her. But the "even bigger" than Lady Gaga isn't hard really is it. *Meow*

Vezzoli's exhibition will coincide with the opening of Prada's revamped Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré store, and Paris Haute Couture, which runs from Jan. 23 to 26.
