Azzedine Alaïa in the 21st Century

One of the last great couturier's and sculptors - Azzedine Alaïa - renowned for his daring experimentation in body-con dressing, is to present his most iconic fashion creations from the past decade - the era of his renaissance - in an exhibition entitled 'Azzedine Alaïa in the 21st century', at the Groniger Museum in the Netherlands.

The semi-retrospective, curated by Mark Wilson, is the sequel to a previous presentation of his work shown at the same museum in 1997-1998, and looks at his most stand-out designs since the turn of the century; including a jacket adorned with croc hide, a fluffy pink lamb fur coat, and of course, his uber-sexy bandage dresses which have embraced the body of many a Hollywood A-lister. He is without doubt the cult hero of flattering the female form, earning him the title, 'The King of Cling' in the 1980s.

The exhibition opens on Dec 11 and runs until May 6, 2012. For more info, head to groningermuseum.nl.
