Fashion On Film: Behind McQueen SS12

"I was thinking about a woman as an object of desire. We go to such lengths to adorn ourselves that we almost become our clothes or are taken over by them. This is a collection about excess - an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme." - Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen

Filmmaker Sean Frank has put together a video shot just moments before the Alexander McQueen SS12 show this year in Paris, presenting a behind-the-scenes look at the commotion and chaos that takes place - while the Fash Ed's mwah mwah one another, and bloggers get removed from the frow by Cruella-de-PR's.
I've been admist the mayhem at a McQueen show having worked for the fashion house as PR Assistant, and it totally is all hands on deck, with the entire team putting the finishing touches to each piece and model before they hit the catwalk. This film also captures the intricate craftsmanship of hand stitching backstage, and reveals hair and beauty secrets such as the spiralled cornrows models wore underneath those fetish-like lace head-masks.
