Topshop Emerge AW11: Featuring Vladimir Karaleev & KTZ

Topshop Emerge has returned with the Autumn/Winter 2011 collections from international labels KTZ and Vladimir Karaleev. Originally known as Topshop Edit, 'Emerge' - a selection of progressive international designers, whose creations are unavailable elsewhere in the UK - started as a pop-up boutique in 2008 and is now a permanent feature. It's a platform for progressive labels which the high street store has discovered across the world, and shows their commitment to supporting directional and emerging designers - hence 'Emerge'!
With two designers showcased in store per month, it's now the turn of German designer Vladimir Karaleev, whose design aesthetic is based on clean lines and basic forms, with unfinished edges. Karaleev was born in Bulgaria and has launched his own label and conceptual debut collection ‘CUT 2010’. His AW11 line includes outsized pieces in luxurious fabrics such as the 'perfect' camel coat.
KTZ, which has previously been stocked at Topshop, returns to Emerge; this time with its signature graphic prints and bold shapes - taking inspiration from the post-modernist design scene through to fashion muse and icon, Grace Jones. Their AW11 collection is a mix of heavily structured pieces, but with a luxe, feminine undercurrent. Think statement prints over powerful shapes in exacting proportions – eye popping striped outerwear teamed with faux fur over a bodycon dress. Both designers are available in the flagship Oxford Circus store now, and online at topshop.com
