Tim Walker's Mechanical Dolls For Vogue Italia
As per, Vogue Italia has excelled in another conceptual shoot, this time for its October issue, featuring an editorial entitled “Mechanical Dolls”, starring models Audrey Marnay and Kirsi Pyrhonen. The shoot showcases how the magazine seamlessly fuses theatrical concepts with trend-led pieces - remember Stella Tennant as Edward Scissorhands meets Ethel Granger?
Captured by photographer Tim Walker, the models-come-wind-up-toys complete with marionette make-up, are eerily placed alongside ventriloquist dummies to create a series of slightly creepy images. Basically they remind me of every nightmare about my dolls coming to life that I've ever had. Happy Halloween!
