Tilda Swinton For The Room #14

Photographed by Peter Hapak, actress, style icon and fantastically strange combination of beauty-meets-an-alien-meets-David-Bowie - Tilda Swinton - covers the A/W 11 issue of Hungarian bi-annual fashion and pop-culture 'zine The Room. Swinton appears as her usually avant-garde and sexually ambiguous self, arresting my eyes in the most introspectively sexy way. Styling for the editorial is provided by Ali Toth and Aniko Virag
In the magazine Swinton discusses the Lynn Ramsay directed film, We Need To Talk About Kevin, in which she plays the mother of a sociopathic teen who goes on a killing spree. For folks who haven't seen it yet, it's definitely not a feel-good flick and it made me fidget uncomfortably throughout.
Aside from talk of beautifully shot yet utterly grim movies, also inside issue #14 is an interview with legendary photographer Nan Goldin, a look at Aussie designer Dion Lee's deceptively simple designs and a feature on fashion theoretician, Valerie Steele. The Room continues to be one of the pioneering publications who seamlessly blend creativity and style into one highly chic coffee-table look good - right now is where it's at.
