Scarf Watch: Sara Ebbett SS12

There's something exciting about discovering a designer you haven't yet come across, particularly one whose signature design aesthetic is to mix clever, quirky, unique and beautiful all at once; and that's just what happened when I received an email from Sara Ebbett. Discovered by fashion talent scout Florence Torrens, Ebbett, a young, British accessory designer, specialising in scarves, launched her debut collection 'Indian Winter' at Paris Fashion Week in March this year - and also showcased her collection at London Fashion Week. Her SS12 range, entitled 'Folded Paper', captures the simplicity of line, colour and form, and is a candy and ice-cream coloured mix of pieces, featuring cute and stylish hand drawn illustrations, with inspiration drawn from architecture, the Coromandel in New Zealand, Geisha’s and the frivolity of the 1930’s. The result is a vivid, nostalgic and fantasy-based blend of stunning prints on bold and colourful Italian silk (hand-rolled in Italy), with a distinct nod to Ebbett's design heroes - icons Elsa Schiaparelli and Frederico Fellini. The scarves are designed to be worn by women who are bold, stylish and passionate about life, with Ebbett describing her as, A confident individual who is free-spirited and loves fashion. She lives to travel - any excuse to enjoy the outdoors!”.  Have a look at some of my fave pieces from the SS12 collection below, which will be available at
