MarcoMarco: The Stage Is All His....

If I say MarcoMarco, some of you might say "the man music’s hottest stars rely on", while some of you might say "Who?". Well, from a studio-come-boutique on LA's La Palmas Avenue, which goes by the name of the House of Infinite Radness, sits a creative collective with a man called Marco at its helm; creating some of the most experimental and outrageous handcrafted costumes and stage outfits for stars including Katy Perry, Pink, Adam Lambert, Fergie, Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha, Shakira, Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj. During his 10 years at the studio/showroom, Marco and his team of independent artists have created everything from Chris Brown's Swarovski and neoprene face mask for the MTV Video Awards 2011; to Katy Perry's cupcake bra in the "California Gurls" video (pics of both designs below).

It's all about LA....

Fav store in LA? Artstring Boutique is really cool and inspiring. The owner knits everything herself and then sells it in the store and whenever I go in there I always find great gifts.
How would you describe where you live/hangout in LA? Authentic, filthy and definitely fabulous.

Name one must-see/must-do/must-go in LA? You have to watch the street performers at Hollywood & Highland. It’s the only part of town where you can see Snow White and Catwoman eating sushi or Spiderman bumming a ciggie off of Shrek.

Favorite LA creative/artist: Jennifer Sindon is my favourite living artist. She's fiercely private and not many people are truly aware of just how incredible she is. Her work is outstanding.

What made you choose this LA location for your showroom/studio? Rick Owens (designer) and Michele Lamy (US designer famed for his avant garde and subversive creations) were in my studio/showroom for 10 years before me. I’ve been here for almost 10 years now and will probably never leave. There is such an amazing energy to this space that I’ve never felt anywhere else before. I’m also on hallowed Hollywood ground, so you'll probably have to pry it away from my lifeless hands.

Masters of  punk, glam, grunge, pop art, hip hop, fashion tech, deconstruction, reconstruction and just about anything else you want to throw at them, the creatives at the House of Infinite Radness (how much do you love that name?!) could bring any concept to life, and one of their latest designs is for singer and my current girlcrush, Kelly Rowland. In the video and promo images for her upcoming single "Lay It On Me", Rowland slinks around in a sexy gold-leaf bodysuit, raising the temperature to Scorchio!
