Fashion On Film: "Don't Steal The Jacket" by Bruce Weber for Moncler

Bruce Weber's short film for fashion brand Moncler "blurs the boundaries between musicals, dreams, thrillers and adventures", as the movie tagline goes. Divided into seven episodes, it's a fashionable fairy tale imagined inside Weber's head, about a young girl with a sweet tooth, her Pomeranian dog and a Moncler jacket, or as Weber describes it, "a madcap children’s television adventure story”. Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini asked the iconic photographer and artist to make the movie which was premiered during Milan Fashion Week SS12, and as The New York Times' On The Runway blog wrote, it stars "an extensive cast of cherubic children, dogs and puffer coats, with typically beautiful visuals and a story line that was a little difficult to follow. At one point, there was a montage of marauding kids, elephants and dogs that was set to “Bless the Beasts and the Children” by the Carpenters."
Having watched the first 4 episodes, it is a little bit "out there", but my first thoughts when I saw the pooch was Weber's previous campaign for Moncler, featuring dogs in puffa jackets (image below). Just too cute!
To watch Episodes 1-4 and follow the others still to unfold, head to the tailor made mini-site HERE. A series of 19 slightly ironic posters were also designed to promote the film, some of which are below....and yes you've guessed it, they feature dogs, kids and puffa jackets!
