Donatella Eats Her Words As Versace Diffuses For The High Street

You may recall Donatella Versace (or Janice the Muppet as I like to refer to her) famously poo-pooing any idea that she would collaborate with high street fashion giants H&M, back in 2008. In case you didn't read her saying "I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand"-  link to the piece in the NY Times fashion section here.

Fast-forward to 2011, and here she is diffusing her range and collaborating with H&M on a 40-piece womenswear collection for the retailer and 20 menswear pieces, to be launched in the autumn. Times a bit tough eh now Donatella?!
In terms of what we can expect, think classic Versace (racy, rock chick, bodycon, leather, studs) as "The exclusive collection will look back to the vibrant heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, colour and exhuberance in exclusive materials at fantastic H&M prices" - or so the press release says.

A little visual treat of what you could be parting with your pounds for is above, featuring Donatella wearing one of the pieces in the womenswear range, after the Versace Menswear show during Milan Fashion Week.

The diffusion line will be available from November 17.
