A filmette on the darker side of fame and fashion...

Photographer, filmmaker, artist, screenwriter: Ben Charles Edwards is all of those things. And right now he's all about promoting his latest work - a 'filmette' which stars some pretty famous and fabulous folk.
Set for a release this Summer, Animal Charm stars Sadie Frost as the deluded and crazed (but sadistically stylish) Miss Anne Thrope, an ex-fashion mogul and famewhore with a somewhat controversial lust for fur, who's on the come back. With references to Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard), early Hammer House Of Horror, an injection of Rocky Horror and a nod to early John Waters, Edwards has captured something rare: macabre humour that runs alongside valid social commentary.
He's at the top of his game when it comes to bringing London's darker, underground cult fashion scene to the fore, and doing it justice. It's a wonderfully camp filmette, but also completely sincere, which includes cameo's from Boy George as a police inspector, Nancy De Olio, Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie and many more faces you would probably recognise if you were throwing some shapes in celeb-filled clubland.Sally Philips (Smack the Pony, Bridget Jones Diary) also stars as Frost's mobility-scooter-powered nemesis, Audrey Hoober.
Watch the official trailer below and for more info on Ben's work, visit www.bencharlesedwards.com which includes a Giles Deacon fashion film for Italian Vogue which is released soon and The Town That Boars Me - a short musical film produced in 2008 featuring a host of celebs, including Sophie Ellis-BextorKelly OsbourneZandra RhodesJodie HarshAndrew Logan and Dee C Lee.
And keep your eyes wide open for this talented all-rounder in 2011/12, because Edward's is already the next big thing....
